Uploading Stops via .CSV in MyRoute

Uploading Stops via .CSV in MyRoute

There are a number of helpful ways to input your stops into our MyRoute portal. Here, we will teach you how to utilize the .CSV upload option for larger, batch-style uploads.

Step 1: Download the .CSV Template

  1. After opening your MyRoute portal, click on the "Upload CSV of stops for a route" button at the bottom of the left-side "Create Route" menu.
  2. This will open a small, secondary menu next to the top of the "Create Route" menu. Click the highlighted "Download Template" button to begin downloading the .CSV template.
  3. You will now have an Excel .CSV file titled "ConciergeStopsWithRoute," which you will use in the next step.

Step 2: Formatting & Data Entry

  1. Open the template to see the required columns and order. 3 of the columns are required for uploading:
    1. address: the address of the stop.
      1. Format should be Address, City, State, ZIP Code.
    2. routeName: the name of the route you'd like the stop to be included in.
      1. Note: the route(s) in this column will be created in MyRoute upon upload.
    3. stopName: the name of the stop as you'd like it to appear in the software (ex. 'Providence Park', 'John Doe', etc.)
    4. The rest of the columns are not required for upload but allow you to provide further information per stop.
  2. Open Excel and make a New Workbook.
    1. Copy the same column headers as they appear in "ConciergeStopsWithRoute."
    2. Enter your data below each column.
      1. Ensure all required fields are filled and column order matches.

Step 3: Saving & Uploading

  1. We will now save your completed workbook as a .CSV file.
    1. Select File -> Save A Copy/Save As -> Click the File Type dropdown -> Select .CSV (Comma delimited) -> Save.
    2. You have now saved your workbook as a ready-to-upload .CSV file.
  2. Head back over to the MyRoute software to the small, secondary menu next to the top of the "Create Route" menu.
    1. This time, select "Choose File."
    2. Select your recently saved .CSV from the last step.
      1. If formatted correctly, you will get a pop-up notification letting you know that it is ready to upload. Click "Confirm."
    3. Your routes & stops will then be loaded into your MyRoute portal.
      1. Refresh the page to see them load into the right-hand "Display Routes" menu and to see the stop icons populate onto the map.
