Uploading Saved/Frequently Used Addresses via .CSV in MyRoute
MyRoute allows you to create & store a list of 'saved'/frequently used addresses for easy, streamlined access when creating a new route. This guide will show you how.
Step 1: Download the .CSV Template
- After opening your MyRoute portal, click on the "Choose Address From List" button next to the Address box in the left-side "Create Route" menu.
- This will open a small, secondary menu next to the top of the "Create Route" menu. Click the "Upload .CSV to Frequently Used Address List" button to open the next menu.
- Click the highlighted "Download Template" button.
- You will now have an Excel .CSV file titled "SavedAddresses," which you will use in the next step.
Step 2: Formatting & Data Entry
- Open the template to see the required columns and order. 2 of the columns are required for uploading:
- address: the address of the stop.
- Format should be Address, City, State, ZIP Code.
- stopName: the name of the stop as you'd like it to appear in the software (ex. 'Providence Park', 'John Doe', etc.)
- The rest of the columns are not required for upload but allow you to provide further information per stop.
- Open Excel and make a New Workbook.
- Copy the same column headers as they appear in "SavedAddresses."
- Enter your data below each column.
- Ensure both required fields are filled and column order matches.
Step 3: Saving & Uploading
- We will now save your completed workbook as a .CSV file.
- Select File -> Save A Copy/Save As -> Click the File Type dropdown -> Select .CSV (Comma delimited) -> Save.
- You have now saved your workbook as a ready-to-upload .CSV file.
- Head back over to the MyRoute software and navigate back to the secondary template/upload menu (see Step 1, #3).
- This time, select "Choose File."
- Select your recently saved .CSV from the last step.
- Click "Submit CSV File" to upload your saved addresses.

Step 4: Adding Saved Addresses to Routes
- Let's add a Saved Address to one of your routes now. Navigate back to the first Saved Address pop-up menu (see Step 1, #1-2).
- If it opens the Select Address CSV Upload menu, click "Cancel" and reopen.
- Select one of your Routes from the Route Select drop-down.
- Use the Address drop-down to add one or more of your newly saved addresses to the selected route.
- When finished, click "Submit" to save route.
Now you know how to save your frequently used stops for quick & easy route creation in the future!
