Map Page Mastery
Your Map Page is the first thing you will see when loading into your portal and where you will likely spend the majority of your time in the FleetPaths software. At face value, it will present you with all of your vehicle's location, tracking and identification info at-a-glance. Though, once you start exploring a little deeper, you may notice it comes with a host of very valuable tools that can completely change the way your data is shown to you. In this tutorial, we will cover all of the functionalities contained on your Map Page and how they can be utilized to help you.
Attached above is an example of a SnowPaths Map Page with both left and right-side menus open, as well as Vehicle Details and Road Info being displayed. We will go over everything being shown and how it's data can be of use to you, but we will first start with the left and right-side menus.
There are two collapsible menus on the SnowPaths Map Page: the left-side Filters menu and the right-side Completion Status menu. These menus each contain much of the functionality and key data available from your Map Page. While each menu has its own unique uses, the information displayed within the right-side Completion Status menu reflects the current selections made within the left-side Filters menu. We will first take a closer look at the left-side Filters menu.
The menu on the left side of your Map Page is the Filters menu. From here, you can fine-tune what is displayed on your map using many different parameters. We will start at the top of the menu and cover exactly what each filter parameter is used for.

Zone
- Using this drop-down menu, you can choose specific zones you would like to be displayed on your map. This will temporarily remove all roads that are not included within the selected zones from your map, only showing the roads included within the selected zones. This menu pre-selects 'All' when logging in. When finished filtering by specific zones, simply return to the drop-down menu and select 'All' to return the Map to its complete view.
- Note: When viewing your filtered zones on the map, uncompleted roads within the zone(s) will be displayed brown, while roads that have been driven on will be displayed blue. Click on the road sections to display detailed information.
- Note: The right-side Completion Status menu will update to show only your selected zone filters.

Vehicle
- Similarly to the Zones drop-down menu, the Vehicle menu will allow you to select specific vehicles to be displayed on the map. Upon vehicle selection, all other vehicles and roads they have driven on will be temporarily removed from the map, allowing you to see exactly where a certain vehicle has travelled. Like the Zones menu, this menu preselects 'All' upon login.
- When you have selected one or more specific vehicles, a new selection will appear at the bottom of the Filters menu called 'Road View/Vehicle View.'
- Road View is the normal preset view of your Map page, displaying all driven-on roads in blue.
- Vehicle View allows you to access a more granular look into your selected vehicle's movements. The roads these vehicles have driven down will no longer be highlighted blue, instead showing you a point-by-point trace with GPS pings and arrows indicating direction. The GPS ping dots can be clicked on for more detailed information.
- Note: The right-side Completion Status menu will update to show only your selected vehicles progress in your zones.
- Note: Hovering over a vehicle icon will display a suite of information about the vehicle including vehicle name, speed, last updated time and any applicable sensor information.

Start/End Time
- These two drop-down boxes allow you to choose any time window (up to 24hrs) since account creation and see a historical snapshot of what your vehicles did within the specified timeframe. You will see all vehicle trace lines, Completion Status percentages and any applicable sensor activation that occurred during the timeframe selected.
- Note: When selecting a Start/End Time dropdown, a small calendar will open that you will use to select your desired timeframe. Some dates may have circles around them:
- No Circle = Your selected vehicles reported no activity.
- Grey Circle = Your selected vehicles reported Non-Vision activity (vehicle was active but had no salt spread data).
- Blue Circle/Red Numbers = Your selected vehicles reported Vision activity (active vehicle with salt spreading data, only available with Vision devices)
- When you are finished making your timeframe selection, click the 'Search' button at the bottom of the Filters menu to load it in.
- Note: All other filter functions work in tandem with the Start/End Time selection. For example, you can use the time boxes to view a specific day in the past and then use both the Zone and Vehicle filters to see what a vehicle did in a zone within the specified timeframe.
- The 'Now' button will provide you with a real-time updating view of your vehicles as they are out in the field.
- To activate, click the 'Now' button. When it turns green, click 'Search' at the bottom of the Filters menu. You will now see a constant loading bar, affirming that you are in real-time.
- To deactivate, click the red 'Cancel' button.

Sensors/Other Checkboxes
At the very bottom of the Filters menu on the left, you have a column of Sensor Checkboxes. On the right, you have the Vehicles/Stops/Pins Checkboxes. These are all used to select and deselect specific information/icons from being displayed on the map, helping to declutter or more intently target certain information.
Sensors = This checkbox lets you turn on/off certain sensor line colors. This can be used to prevent certain sensor info from appearing on the map while allowing others to appear.
Note: You must have sensors installed to notice any change from these selections. Contact a FleetPaths Customer Service Specialist to learn about your sensor options.
Vehicles = Use this box to either display or hide your vehicle icons from your map. This box is always checked upon loading into your Map Page, therefore showing your vehicles.
Stops = When checked, the Stops Checkbox displays clickable stop signs on the map that indicate moments/areas where the specified vehicle was at a standstill for 5+ minutes.
- Pins = Having this box checked will display all of your placed Pins (and their information) on your map page.
Reset Filters
- Near the bottom of the Filters menu, this convenient yellow button will reset all of your filters to their original selections.
We have briefly touched on the Completion Status menu several times throughout the Filters menu tutorial, and how it will adapt to your changing filters. Let's take a closer look into what information it is providing you and how it can be useful. Note: You must have zones created to utilize this menu and the information it contains.

The Three Columns
- Zones
- The Zones column displays all of the zones that are currently selected in your Filters menu. If 'All' zones are selected, this column will display all of your created zones.
- Completed
- This column shows how much of the corresponding zone has been completed by the vehicles you have selected in your Filters menu.
- Note: This number is completely dependent on the vehicles you have selected in the Filters menu, only showing the progress of the selected vehicles through any given zone. If you have one vehicle selected and it did not pass through a zone, this will show 0%.
- Remaining
- Building off of the Completed column, this column shows how much of the zone has yet to be completed by percentage.
- Note: This number is directly related to the Completed percentage and all factors affecting it.
- Final Note: clicking on the column names will allow you to sort 'least to greatest' for the numerical columns and 'first to last' by the alphabetical column.
And that's it! You're now an expert on utilizing your Map Page and using all of the tools at your disposal to get the most out of your SnowPaths portal. If you have any other questions, please reach out to a FleetPaths Customer Service Specialist for further assistance.
