How to Use the Hide Streets & Show Hidden Streets Functionality
The Hide Streets & Show Hidden Streets functionalities are powerful tools that allow you to hand-pick streets within your jurisdiction to hide from the map. This tutorial will walk you through how to access and utilize these tools and exemplify how they may be of use to you.
1. Navigating to the Hide Streets/Show Hidden Streets Maps
- Go to the Customize Tab from the top-left dropdown.
- Select the Update Streets & Priorities option.
- There will be a left-side menu that appears with three page options across the top.
- For the sake of this instructional, disregard the "Update Priority" button and click the arrow on the top right side to bring the "Hide Streets" & "Show Hidden Streets" buttons fully into view. Select "Hide Streets."
2. Hide Streets
Hiding streets allows you to manually select which roads your vehicles will not appear tracking on. All unhidden roads will track your vehicles moving on them. The ability to hide certain roads is useful for private roads, roads handled by other organizations, etc.
- When selecting "Hide Streets," you will be met with a map screen showing all of the active, unhidden roads in your jurisdiction. Additionally, there will be a new menu appearing on the left side of your screen.
- Before selecting roads to hide, be sure you select which portal to hide them from using the drop-down menu found at the top of the left-side menu.
- Note: The colors of your active roads are solely dependent on your Street Priority, which we cover how to change & update in another tutorial. This does not affect your ability to hide them.
- To begin hiding roads, simply click on a shaded road. The road will then turn brown and appear in the left-side menu, indicating it is selected to be hidden.
- If you accidentally click a road that you don't want to delete, simply click the Trash Can next to the road name in the left-side menu. This will restore it to its previous active state.
- Once you have selected all the roads you wish to hide, click the "Remove Roads" button at the bottom of the left-side menu. This will save your selections and remove all chosen roads from your map, no longer tracking or showing vehicle movement on them.

3. Show Hidden Streets
Once you have hidden streets, they can be viewed and unhidden using the "Show Hidden Streets" menu.
- Switch over to the "Show Hidden Streets" menu in the top bar of the Left side menu.
- Once again, be sure you select which portal to show your hidden streets in using the drop-down menu found at the top of the left-side menu.
- Your hidden streets will now appear as blue, while the rest of the unhidden streets will appear as brown. When selecting a hidden street you'd like to unhide, it will then appear green.
- Same as with the Hide Streets menu, if you accidentally click a road that you don't want to unhide, simply click the Trash Can next to the road name in the left-side menu.
- Once you have selected all the roads you wish to unhide, click the "Re-add Roads" button at the bottom of the left-side menu. This will save your selections and unhide all chosen roads from your map, reinstating tracking and showing vehicle movement on them.
You now can hide and re-add streets to your jurisdiction at a moment's notice! Not only will you see these changes in your Admin portal, but the public portal will also have these changes reflected.
