How to Create a Route in TRANSIT Using GeoJSON.io
1. Open geojson.io
- Go to geojson.io.
2. Search for the Desired City
- Use the search bar to find the city where you want to create the route.
3. Zoom In
- Zoom into the area where you want to create the route for better precision.
4. Draw the Route
- Click the line tool located in the toolbar on the right.
- Click on the street to start creating the route by adding points.
- Continue clicking to extend the line along the desired path.
5. Finalize the Line
- Click the line tool again to turn the line solid.
6. Refine the Route with the Edit Tool
- Click the edit tool at the bottom of the toolbar.
- Click on each point to adjust it, ensuring it is centered on the road.
- Use midpoints to make more precise adjustments.
7. Save the Line
- Click save to save the line after centering it.
8. Add Points Along the Route
- Click the Draw Point tool in the toolbar.
- Click on the map to drop a point.
- Click on the point to add information.
9. Fill Out Point Information
- Add details such as name and order in lowercase.
- Use the add row button to insert additional information.
Note: Ensure the naming follows the template and order to avoid upload issues.
10. Continue Adding Points
- Add points in the same order that the shuttle travels.
- Save the file as GeoJSON using the save button at the top left.
11. Upload to SnowPaths
- Log into the shuttle’s account on SnowPaths.
- Click the upload button on the map.
- Enter the route name, select the desired color, and choose the correct portal and route type.
12. Upload the GeoJSON File
- Click upload file to upload the new GeoJSON file.
- Click save to save the route.
Your route is now successfully uploaded to Transit!
